On successful completion of the module, students should be able to:

As a result of this module, IF the student: 1) attends all lectures, diligently taking notes, and 2) completes all assigned readings, studying the concepts in those readings, and 3) completes all assigned work, giving full effort to that work, THEN (and only then) it is reasonable to assume that by the end of this module the student will:

1) be familiar with anthropological approaches to kinship;

2) will have begun to identify her or his own weaknesses in critical thinking and writing skills, and will begin to acquire tools for improving these skills in the second and third years of study;

3) will be prepared to undertake further study in anthropology.
