On successful completion of the module, students should be able to:

As a result of this module, IF the student: 1) attends all lectures, diligently taking notes, and 2) completes all assigned readings, studying the concepts in those readings, and 3) completes all assigned work, giving full effort to that work, THEN (and only then) it is reasonable to assume that by the end of this module the student will:

1) be familiar with the existing anthropological research on international development;

2) learn to apply theoretical concepts to contexts of overseas charity and aid, thereby to more critically evaluate those practices;

3) refine to a final-year level skills in critical thinking and reading, and especially the skill of being able to express the student's own ideas in writing.
