	Overview
	Readings for the course will consist of a thematically focused set of textual materials taken from contemporary sources, particularly newspaper, magazines and journals. On successful completion of this module, students should be able to: Translate Chinese into English, with a high degree of accuracy, authentic Chinese texts such as newspapers; Translate English into Chinese, with a high degree of accuracy, authentic Chinese texts such as newspapers; Discuss current affairs in Chinese; Achieve a better understanding of contemporary China.
