Management theories, concepts and principles; Organisational culture, development; Management roles, responsibilities, skills; Planning and evaluation; Legal and financial issues in management. Perspectives on gender, class, racism & ethnicity, age, disability, sexuality and related issues; policy implications and developments relating to inequality. Theory and method in social research; Research designs; qualitative and quantitative research methods; Participative research; action research; Research as reflexive practice; values and ethics in research.

Please note that this module is available to visiting international students only. Students must be studying youth work or community work/development in their home university. Interested students must contact the Department of Applied Social Studies before registering.
