• Critically interrogate the array of controversies and complexities inherent in the historical education record.
• Display an ability to draw on a diversity of considered viewpoints and skillfully marshal convincing interpretations from across a range of conflicting source evidence.
• Display evidence of a critically reflective and analytical engagement with the broad range of commission reports, policy statements and legislative documents pertinent to the study of Irish educational history.
• Articulate a decisive insight of the relationship between the nature and purpose of education and the wider imperatives and inputs of vested agencies.
