	Overview
	This module consolidates and extends the understanding of the content and pedagogical skills of Visual Arts in the primary school setting. Students will create both 2D and 3D work in practical sessions in many Strand areas. They will demonstrate integrated planning, recording and evaluation for a child-centred curriculum. They will also examine and apply a broad range of assessment principles and practices. Collaborative and problem-based learning and differentiated teaching strategies are a feature of this module.

	Learning Outcomes
	On successful completion of the module, students should be able to: Reflect on, analyse, justify and utilise curricular methodologies in Visual Arts at whole school level. Plan short-term and long-term units of work in Visual Arts in an integrated manner. Utilise assessment and differentiation strategies, appropriate to the developmental stages of the individual primary school child. Consider the value of problem-posing approaches to promote a Froebelian inquiry-based learning environment Consider the value of problem-posing approaches to promote a Froebelian inquiry-based learning environment Demonstrate the centrality of language as a fundamental component of synthesised learning Critically analyse and reflect the use of ICT to achieve quality of learning across the digital learning framework outcomes
