	Overview
	The aim of this module is to develop foundation skills in using LabView as a programming environment and a platform for simulation, data acquisition, processing and presentation. Module content: Graphical programming. Data flow programming paradigm. Basic and complex data types. Units. Control structures. Common design patterns. User interface design. Graphing and charting. Waveforms and signal processing. Data import and export. Model fitting. Textual math. Local and remote data acquisition.

	Learning Outcomes
	On successful completion of the module, students should be able to: Construct working LabView programs using appropriate data types and control structures. Design and implement simple user interfaces. Perform data acquisition using appropriate hardware. Analyse and present data using standard libraries. Import and export data in text format. Select and implement appropriate design patterns.
