The aim of this module is to further develop the student's knowledge of quasi-optics and long wave optics with applications in the far-infrared, terahertz and millimeter wavebands.

Module Content:
Signal transmission, modes, Gaussian beams, beam coupling, lenses, focusing mirrors, multi-mode beams. Antenna theory, reflectors antennas, beam patterns beam, efficiency, feed systems. Horn antennas, waveguide theory, scalar horns, multi-moded horns. Interferometry, filters, diplexers, resonators, detectors, sources.
