	Study of major French legends using the most elementary original versions.

	Learning Outcomes
	On successful completion of the module, students should be able to: Recognise the specificities of medieval French. Demonstrate knowledge of the history of the French language. Critically examine a selection of medieval French myths and legends, paying attention to their place in European culture. Demonstrate an ability to understand and translate a text from the medieval original.
