	Overview
	The module�s objective is to introduce students to the current global financial and economic crisis, to the particular forms that it has taken in Ireland compared to other countries (in Europe and North America), and to its unfolding impacts on the economic, socio-cultural and political geographies of Ireland. The course will include both theoretical perspectives on the crisis and discussions grounded in empirical case-studies mainly but not exclusively in Ireland.

	Learning Outcomes
	On successful completion of the module, students should be able to: Describe and explain the current global financial and economic crisis Analyze a variety of theoretical perspectives on the crisis Discuss the reasons for spatial variations in the crisis, using relevant case studies Examine the impacts of the crisis of the economic, socio-cultural and political geographies of Ireland
