Part one of the module aims to provide an historical account of the process of European integration. Particular attention will be paid to the debates on European integration during the post second world war period examining the circumstances under which the EEC emerged and the forces that prompted its continued evolution into the European Union. Part two examines the institutional anatomy of the European Union. Students will be presented with a description and analysis of the main EU institutions, how they relate to one another and to other relevant interests.
