This module in intended to help deepen the student’s engagement with historiography and historical theory using examples from different historical approaches, such as social, cultural, political, gender, economic and local history. Students will be encouraged to reflect on the connection between the narratives of history offered by historians, the evidence that underpins or may undermine those narratives, and how the larger contexts within these narratives are written, received, revised, and contested.
