This module will explore contemporary global development (GD) issues, challenges and responses with a view to supporting critical engagement with different theoretical perspectives, research and case studies on global development and the complexity of contemporary challenges and responses.
The module content will address the following areas: GD Theory and Practice; the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs); Globalisation and Development; GD Political and Economic Challenges and Responses;
The Environment and Systemic Change – Climate Justice and Human Rights; Civil Society and Change – From Development Education to Global Citizenship Education, Gender Equality, Anti-Racism and Critical Pedagogy; and Case Studies on issues such as Migration, Conflict and Security, Food and Resources, Technology, Media and the Future.
