On successful completion of the module, students should be able to:

Explain and critically discuss the principle of the free movement of goods, discuss and analyse the Treaty provisions, secondary legislation and case law relating to customs duties, charges with equivalent effect, internal taxation, quantitative restrictions and measures having equivalent effect along with any relevant exceptions.

Explain and critically analyse the freedom of establishment and the freedom of services, with reference to relevant Treaty provisions, secondary legislation and case law.

Define and discuss the scope of the free movement of people in the EU in terms of rights granted to citizens, workers and their families.

Outline the general aims of the European Union's competition policy.

Discuss and analyse the meaning of "undertaking" and the scope and application of Articles 101 and 102 TFEU.

Discuss and analyse the notion of State aid, and EU State aid policy and law.
