	Overview
	This module examines the principles governing the judicial review of public bodies under the Constitution. It includes an examination of the remedies available by way of judicial review, the principles underlying the concept of constitutional justice and decisions that are subject to judicial review, discretionary power in decision-making and its control, legitimate expectations, error of law on the face of the record, and licensing. Any aspect of this module may be changed in any given academic year, subject to the discretion of the module lecturer.

	Learning Outcomes
	On successful completion of the module, students should be able to: Recognise and identify the key principles relating to the identifying of a reviewable body and the principles for such review as well as recounting the circumstances when a decision will not be upheld. Comprehend the principles relating to the court's interference in decision making by public bodies, explain their operation on different decisions and distinguish a valid from an invalid decision. Examine the reviewability of a decision in a given factual matrix and predict the outcome of a judicial determination of the problem Analyse, debate and criticise the law in a particular area of administrative law and draw conclusions as to its effectiveness and fairness. Interpret a given factual matrix in light of administrative law principles, summarise the main legal issues involved and construct an opinion as to the legal position.
