This module primarily addresses the fundamental and personal rights guaranteed by the Constitution of Ireland. The scope of the module includes: the values underpinning the Constitution; the nature and theory of constitutional rights; the concept of unenumerated rights; and some discussion of select constitutional guarantees including the right to life, privacy and bodily integrity, equality, expression and personal liberty, family rights, education, property rights, religion, as well as the range of remedies available to litigants and the process of amending the Constitution.

Any aspect of this module may be changed in any given academic year, subject to the discretion of the module lecturer.
