This module provides an introduction to the novel insights that an economic analysis of law provides. It explores applications of such analyses to inter alia the law of tort, property, contracts and regulation Students will study the theoretical ideas and applications of economics to law, and learn the manner in which economic methodology and reasoning have been applied to legal problems. No previous study of economics is necessary. Nor is detailed mathematical knowledge.

Any aspect of this module may be changed in any given academic year, subject to the discretion of the module lecturer.
