	Overview
	This course will provide students with a comprehensive overview of the impact of the law on the provision of education. Participants will explore the foundational elements of education law before critically analysing how admissions policies, liability for negligence, religion, special educational needs, inter alia, impact the day-to-day running of schools. 	Learning Outcomes
	On successful completion of the module, students should be able to: identify and examine the main statutory provisions relating to schools and consider their implications for school practice; describe and explain the key principles of Education Law; analyse primary and secondary law, case law and policy publications relating to schools and evaluate their effect on practice; identify child protection issues; examine the legal issues relating to special educational needs; explain and discuss issues pertaining to admissions policies; critically evaluate the most pressing legal issues affecting schools; differentiate between various causes of action against schools and apply relevant law to a variety of factual scenarios.
