Students will be expected to arrive at a suitable dissertation topic after consultation with a faculty supervisor. Thereafter, s/he will be expected to complete a dissertation of 10,000 words, excluding footnotes. Students are expected to demonstrate the following:
• Competence and skills necessary to complete and defend an appropriate research proposal;
• Nuanced exploration of the research question and completion of a thorough literature review
• Ability to analyse academic literature and to draw appropriate conclusions based on the evidence.
• Competence to produce a coherent, erudite dissertation supported by strong evidence and a thorough analysis.

This course will be run (and taught) only if a sufficient number of students enrol.

Any aspect of this module may be changed in any given academic year, subject to the discretion of the Head of Department.
