This module provides students with an advanced and critical understanding of youth justice. It explores the birth and evolution of modern childhood, and its impact in terms of the development of contemporary youth justice systems, particularly across Anglophone jurisdictions. Students who take this module will have a chance to explore the theoretical and ideological underpinnings of the system as well as understandings and responses to youth crime from society and agencies such as the police, probation, courts and so on.
