The programme is designed for graduates who will not be familiar with foundation material in this subject area. A fundamental objective of the programme is to develop participants’ general understanding of the material and to move beyond to: a) explore advanced content and b) to understand the process and practice of applying their knowledge in specific contexts. The module will review contemporary organisations in their principal environments. It will examine organisational and HR strategies including how the former affects approaches to the development of the latter. It will also examine how the various practices of HR in the firm sit within their strategic context i.e. recruitment and selection, training, reward systems, employee relations, managing diversity and performance management policies and practices. The module will also cover the impact that international trends, globalisation, demographics and government policy have on HR strategy and practice
