This English for Academic Purposes (EAP) module focuses on enabling students to acquire a sufficient command of the English language approximate to CEFR level B2.2 and involving all four skills of reading, writing, listening and speaking, to enable them to engage successfully with their academic studies across a range of subject areas. At CEFR B2.2, students will be able to understand extended speech and lectures; follow complex lines of argument; understand particular attitudes and viewpoints in extended written texts; present clear, detailed descriptions on a wide range of subjects; write clear, detailed texts such as essays or reports, on a variety of topics and subjects. All of the above will be accomplished using very good, appropriate levels of grammatical accuracy and lexical range.
