At the heart of management is the practice of organising yourself and others to undertake individual and group activities to achieve organisational objectives. The module covers the broad range of issues shaping the behaviour of people in organisations, as well as the management practices aimed at achieving organisational goals. The module assesses the evolution of management from scientific fundamentals to contemporary cutting-edge techniques and the challenges organisations face. This module helps students to appreciate the vital role people play in organisational success and to understand how management practices influence and direct their behaviour.
