This module will explore the area of electronic music composition, from the technical, aesthetical and historical point of view. Students will study the main musical developments since 1945, from the birth of Musique Concrète to today’s Computer Music. From a technical perspective, the module will teach the basic methods of sound generation and manipulation: oscillators, sampling, envelopes, looping, filters, delays and other effects processing. In complement to this, students will learn how to apply these elements to electronic music composition.
