Overview Overview

The aim of this module is to introduce students to philosophy of religion and logic. The philosophical bproblem of the co-existence of evil and an all-powerful and all-good God will also be addressed. The second part of this module introduces students to both classical and modern logic, covering such topics as: the nature and scope of logic; truth and validity; the classification of terms and propositions; translating everyday language into standard logical form; patterns of immediate inference; the syllogism; hypothetical and disjunctive arguments; the basic methods and procedures of modern symbolic logic; and devotes some time to informal logical fallacies at the end.
