Module Content: The distinction between science and pseudo-science. Fundamental assumptions in psychology. Philosophy of science for psychology: Paradigms and approaches to psychological enquiry. Philosophy of mind. Ethics: Philosophical, psychological and professional issues.

Module Objective: To examine fundamental assumptions in psychological research and psychological science. To explore conceptual issues common to psychology, science and philosophy. To examine ethical issues in research and professional psychology.
