• Detail and evaluate the major theories and key concepts used by sociologists to analyse the organisation of work and employment.
• Critically assess the contribution of sociological analysis to an understanding of contemporary trends in work and employment in comparative and historical perspective.
• Evaluate the empirical trends and patterns identified by sociologists exploring issues such as: changing forms of organisation of work and employment; the politics of workplace bargains; gender, race, ethnicity and inequality at work; reconciliation of family and work life; comparative historical differences in work organisation.
• Develop an independent and critical perspective on the sociological analyses of work and employment.

Students are responsible for familiarising themselves with this deadline. If students do not submit by the deadline, the existing continuous assessment mark will be carried forward to the Autumn. No continuous assessment work will be accepted after this date.
