• Detail and evaluate key approaches to the study of social inequality from sociological, and political economy perspectives.
• Understand how social scientists use data in different ways to diagnose, analyse, and interpret social inequality.
• Appreciate the connection between theory and evidence in quantitative research design and conduct
• Think critically about different ways to measure complex concepts.
• Understand and apply basic principles of data visualisation, univariate, and multivariate analysis.
• Display basic competence with data analysis software.
