Linguistics is the discipline that studies human language in all of its forms. This is a final year optional module which offers a theoretical and practical introduction to some fundamentals of Spanish linguistics. Students will have the opportunity to explore key topics such as the sociocultural context of the Spanish language, meaning construction, and the Spanish sound system. Spanish language will be analysed in all of its diversity, which will enable students to become acquainted with the existing variants of the language. This module will contribute to the improvement of the students’ Spanish language skills by helping them to understand how the Spanish language works.
