This non-denominated Science degree gives you flexibility by allowing you to select a diverse range of subjects. The subjects covered under the Science umbrella include the fundamental areas that underpin all of the sciences - such as physics, chemistry, biology, mathematics - and newer disciplines such as biotechnology, genetics, bioinformatics, and multimedia.
                   

As a student of Science you will learn how to analyse and explain complex issues, to identify problems and work out solutions, and to enter into the unknown with an open mind. You will learn to think logically and analytically, and develop your creativity and communication skills. Your theoretical knowledge will be reinforced through practical sessions in NUI Maynooth's state-of-the-art laboratories.
                  

This broad Science degree offers flexibility, giving you the option to choose a diverse range of subjects. You will have a number of weeks at the beginning of First Year to choose your subjects.

All students must take 4 subjects in first year, one of which must be Mathematics. Three subjects are taken in second year, two in third year and two subjects in fourth year. For single honours only one subject is taken in fourth year.
