This module explores the historical foundations of course validation and the legislative frameworks for course validation in FET. It examines and critically analyses national and international policy and examines the roles and responsibilities of the different governance and awarding bodies including, but not limited to, Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI), SOLAS, Department of Education and Skill, Education and Training Boards (ETBs). The terminology and concepts employed will be problematized and critiqued using appropriate theoretical frameworks.
