This module will begin with a thorough review of the theoretical achievements of foreign language pedagogies, with a particular focus on Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language (TCFL). Then, we will explore how to create effective and interactive lessons using language teaching methods, authentic materials, and information and communications technology (ICT) in TCFL classrooms. This module aims to provide students with an in-depth understanding of the structures of Mandarin Chinese by familiarizing them with the terminology and concepts of a grammatical meta-language. The emphasis of this module is on language analysis, improving students' awareness of the structures of Mandarin Chinese, and helping them become more effective teachers of the language.
