On successful completion of the module, students should be able to:

Identify a wide variety of literary techniques and explain how they function.

Communicate a personal reaction to and appreciation of a selected passage.

Select specific examples from the passage to support one's argument.

Engage in close literary analysis in groups and individually.

Orally present (in French) an exposé to the class (based on the literary analysis of a specific passage) as well as producing a written plan of the exposé.
