• Recognise a wide range of complex tenses and advanced grammatical structures and employ them to produce meaningful and correct German sentences.
• Converse in German with a great degree of fluency and spontaneity about social, political and cultural topics.
• Discuss in depth and answer challenging questions about a topic they have chosen themselves.
• Develop a clear, coherent and well-structured argument in writing, demonstrating appropriate use of grammar, vocabulary and cohesive devices.

• 24 contact (language) hours, 12 language centre hours; students will also have the option of taking up to 36 hours of additional language support.

• An oral examination must be taken in the Autumn if a student has failed the module in the previous session, even if the student previously passed the oral examination. Continuous Assessment marks are carried forward to the autumn.
