Early Irish material boasts a considerable amount of biographical material on a fairly diverse range of figures like Cú Chulainn, Finn mac Cumaill, Cormac mac Airt, Brigit and Patrick. Very often, we find that the heroes of early Ireland live their lives in the real landscape and these places are invariably marked with archaeological remains. This module will explore early biographical narratives in the wider context of the Irish countryside. |
