• Articulate their own values, philosophy and goals in relation to Teaching & Learning and their current role in Higher Education.

• Identify core theory, policy and readings that influence current practice in teaching, learning and assessment in higher education and apply them in practice, where relevant.
• Write critically and reflectively on their own practice and continuous professional development.
• Design teaching sessions in line with good practice in curriculum development, recognised models and quality assurance requirements.
• Critically review their own and their peers' teaching skills through a peer teaching observation process as a PD activity.
• Plan, test and review contemporary approaches in teaching, assessment and feedback in relation to core themes such as equality and diversity.
• Incorporate principles and approaches to using digital technologies to enhance and support learning in their own practice.

• This is a blended learning module. Learning happens through engagement with core topics and resources; individually through practice and reflection, in pairs through a pairing system, and as a wider group through in-class and online discussion and activities. Through activity, discussion, observation and engagement with educational literature and resources, participants will have the opportunity to build and consolidate their learning across the core topics of the module. They will explore a variety of teaching methods and learning approaches, test them in practice, and reflect on their value, effectiveness and suitability in relation to their own practice. To reinforce and apply learning, participants will be paired with a critical friend for the module who they will meet between classes to collaborate on and discuss specific learning activities. Learning is further reinforced and applied through an assessment for learning and constructive feedback approach to the module.

• Continuous Assessment detail(s): The module will be assessed on a Passed/Not Passed basis on successful completion of all module assessment elements: Assessment for this module includes 4 key elements: 1. Develop a teaching philosophy. 2. Peer observation feedback process and self-reflection of an observed teaching session. 3. Create a digital artefact for use in a teaching session. 4. Analyse and reflect on their key learning and its impact on their future practice.
