• Develop and enact teaching and learning approaches and activities that allow a positive learning culture to exist in their own teaching contexts.

• This module adopts a blended learning and flipped classroom approach whereby participants engage with screencasts, readings and/or video resources in the Moodle space relating to each skill or topic. They attending an online session to apply the learning to practice through shared examples and discussion. Participants then engage in a critical friend discussion and complete individual and peer activities to reinforce and apply learning in their own context before moving to the next week’s topic. The module structure follows a broader Think, Pair, Share approach that gives the student an opportunity to individually consider the learning topic and concepts, engage with a peer to share and critically think about the topic in their own practice and discipline, and share this with a wider community of peers for greater exploration, learning and consolidation of key points.

• Continuous Assessment detail(s): The module will be assessed on a Pass/not passed basis on successful completion of all module assessment elements. Assessment for this module requires participants to submit a series of completed activities related to different teaching skills and topics of the module. 1: Individual principles of Good Teaching Practice 2: Personal Statement of intended Learning Culture 3: Series of teaching Skills Reflections on specific skills/topics 4: Self-evaluation of a teaching episode focussing on specific core teaching skills, with input from a peer observer. The assessment will allow participants to reflect on specific skills in their own teaching and with the input of a peer observer.
